The German Quidditch League kicks off again

The regional league Rhein-Main is starting into the shortened season this Saturday! Another five regional leagues follow all over Germany. Games will continue till late July.

April 8th is game day at Günthersburgpark in Frankfurt: Binger Beasts, Darmstadt Athenas, Frankfurt Mainticores and Broom Breakers are competing in the Rhein-Main League for the first time. It marks the start into the spring season for the German Quidditch League. After the NRW League took its teams for a test spin in fall 2016, six regional leagues are now taking place at the same time.

The league is divided into the regions Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North, North Rhine-Westphalia, East and Rhein-Main and will feature teams competing for their regional championships from April till July. Regional winners will then challenge each other for the overall victory in the German League Final in September.
DQB president Nina Heise comments on the League kick off: "The first nation-wide quidditch league is an important step for us. It reflects the rapid growth we could observe over the course of the past season."

An overview of all dates and participating teams per regional league is now available on the League page.

We wish good luck to all teams and look forward to exciting matches!
