Become a part of the DQB team!

We're always looking for some help! Everybody at DQB is a non-paid volunteer who wants to contribute to the quidditch community and advance their own skills. Here you can find all information on the areas that we are looking for support for.

Please note: A number of volunteer positions can currently only be found on the German version of this page.

 

DQB Board

The representatives of the DQB member teams elect the board for the upcoming season at the annual general meeting. Applications for the board 2017/18 are open till 15 July 2017 and should be sent to president[at]deutscherquidditchbund.de and vicepresident[at]deutscherquidditchbund.de as one PDF file. This email should include a letter of motivation in which you explain why you are the right choice of the position you are applying for. Should you be unable to attend the general meeting, this letter will be used to inform the team representatives of your qualifications.
In accordance with the constitution, all applicants have to be at least 18 years old and cannot act as team representatives during their term on the board. All board members are naturally bound to the moral principles of the DQB.
All board positions require the availability for weekly Skype meetings. Technical prerequisites include Skype and Google accounts.
 
President
Requirements:
- Advanced English language proficiency
- Good knowledge of the German and European quidditch scene
- Ability to work in a team
- Experience in leading groups
- Good organisational skills
Responsibilities:
- Representation of the DQB to members and the outside
- Participation in IQA Congress and European Committee meetings
- Leadership of the Social Impact Team
 
Vice President
Requirements:
- Advanced English language proficiency
- Good knowledge of the German and European quidditch scene
- Ability to work in a team
Responsibilities:
- Representation of the DQB to members and the outside
- Participation in IQA Congress and European Committee meetings
- Supporting the DQB President
 
Treasurer
Requirements:
- Knowledge of finances and accounting
- Ability to work in a team
Responsibilities:
- Administrative accounting of the DQB finances
 
Gameplay Director
Requirements:
- Holding or currently pursuing a referee certification
- Experience from active playing and ideally coaching
- Ability to work in a team
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the rulebook
- Referee and snitch certification programmes (incl contact with the IRDP)
- Management of DQB tournaments and leagues
- Leadership of the group of volunteers working on gameplay (e.g. kidditch, league coordination)
 
Teams Support Director
Requirements:
- Sociableness
- Good knowledge of the German quidditch scene
- Ability to work in a team
Responsibilities:
- Contact person for German quidditch teams
- Supporting new teams
- Expanding German quidditch
- Leadership of the group of volunteers working on teams support (e.g. community outreach)
 
PR Director
Requirements:
- Full language proficiency in German and English
- Experience in press relations and social media
- Creativity and spontaneity with regards to new marketing strategies
- Basic knowledge of content management systems and graphic design are an asset
- Ability to work in a team
Responsibilities:
- Contact to the press
- Social media presence
- Leadership of the group of volunteers working on PR (e.g.online editorial, promotion, IT, graphic design)
- Taking over PR related tasks that are currently not assigned to volunteers

 

Public Relations

Online editorial department
You know what is going on in the German quidditch scene? We are looking for some help on the online editorial department, ie. in the part of Public Relations that makes sure that the news appear on the website (both in German and English). The workload mainly depends on the current quidditch events, but won't exceed a few hours per week any time soon.
Requirements:
- very good German and English writing skills
- availability via email or Facebook
- possibility to join Skype meetings on a regular basis
- team work
- preferably prior experience with (online) journalism

Project: Wikipedia
The German Wikipedia finally needs some good quidditch articles! We are looking for one or two motivated people who want to close this gap. The project is currently limited to certain articles, however, it can be extended according to your ideas!

- possibility to join Skype meetings on a regular basis
- team work
